The Vanishing Turn Signal
abruptly, or slows down suddenly at a corner. Maybe we’ve even been that someone, telling ourselves, “No one’s behind me,” or “It’s not a big deal.”
But here’s the truth: failing to signal isn’t just a driving faux pas—it’s a moment of disregard. A small, quiet decision that says, “I matter more than anyone else right now.”
Ethical living starts with recognition—seeing the people we share space with. On the road, a turn signal is a literal sign of respect: “I see you. I want you to be safe. I’m giving you time to react.”
When we skip it, we’re not just shaving seconds off our day—we’re putting others at risk and eroding trust in the silent agreement that keeps traffic flowing and people alive.
💡 Personal Challenge:
This week, make a point to use your turn signal even when no one seems to be around. Let it become a spiritual discipline—a small gesture of mindfulness and respect for the unseen.
🙏 Prayer:
God of all direction, teach me to live with awareness. Help me see the people around me and treat them with care—even in the smallest of ways. May I never grow so rushed that I forget the sacredness of shared space. Amen.
